Live Sessions

The Live tab (next to Beat Gallery) is where DJs play live. Your set is broadcast and recorded at the same time, and the recording is yours to keep.

  • ▶ Watching: open the Live tab and press play on any session marked LIVE. Nothing to install, and you do not need an account to watch.
  • 🔴 Going live: Live → Go live. Choose Camera + mic, or Decks / screen + sound if you are playing from software. Give the session a title, pick the Caribbean genre, tick the terms and press Start broadcasting.
  • 🎧 Get your sound right first: the studio tells you how many audio tracks it captured. If it says none, fix that before you start — a set with no sound is the one thing worth stopping for. Screen sharing captures your decks; it adds your mic too so you can talk over the mix.
  • 💧 The watermark: caribbeanvibez.com is drawn into the bottom-left of the picture as you play, so it is part of the video rather than laid over the top. It stays there in the file you download.
  • ⬇ Download and share: once you end the session, open it and press Download the recording. It is a WebM file, which YouTube, Facebook and Instagram all accept as-is. Download it, then upload it to your own channel — we cannot post to your YouTube account for you, because that would mean holding the keys to it.
  • 🔒 Not ready to broadcast? Choose Private — just record it in the studio, or a Private session on the decks. Nothing goes out: the recording lands in your folder on the site, is listed nowhere and nobody else can open it. Download it and share it wherever you want, on your own terms.
  • 📅 Scheduling: Live → Schedule a session puts it under Coming up so people know when to turn up. You start it yourself from the studio when the time comes.
  • 🔥 Reactions, not comments: viewers react with emojis and the DJ sees them float up over the picture. There are no comments on live sessions — that is deliberate, and it keeps a live room about the music.
  • 📢 Bring your own crowd: once you are live, the studio (and your session page) gives you one-tap invites for Telegram, Facebook, X and WhatsApp. Instagram has no sharing link of its own, so we copy the caption and link for you to paste into a story or post. We never post anything on your behalf and never ask for a social password.
  • 🔔 Knowing when someone is on: logged-in members get a banner at the top of the page when a session starts, and the Live tab shows a red dot. Dismiss the banner and it stays dismissed for that session.
  • ⚑ Reporting: any logged-in viewer can report a session that is not Caribbean music or shows anything inappropriate. Enough separate reports and the session stops, the recording goes, and that DJ cannot go live again.
  • The rules: sessions must be Caribbean music and you must be 18 or over to broadcast. The full terms are on the Live tab and in the site terms; what we store is in the privacy notice.
  • Sessions have limits on length and size, and recordings are deleted after a while — so download anything you want to keep.

Streamers — live from events

The Streamers tab (in the menu, next to Food) is for members at Caribbean events: go live from the fete with your phone, or upload the clips you filmed on the night.

  • 🔴 Going live from an event: Streamers → Go live from an event. The studio opens your phone's back camera. Type the event's name (it becomes the title), pick the Caribbean genre, tick the terms and press Start broadcasting. It shows on Streamers under Live from events now, and on the Live tab.
  • 🎧 Check your sound first: the studio tells you how many audio tracks it captured. If it says none, fix that before you start. Sound systems can clip a phone mic — step back from the speakers.
  • 🔋 Battery and data: live video drains a phone fast and uses mobile data (roughly 1 GB an hour). Charge up, use the venue Wi-Fi if there is any, keep the screen on, and hold the phone sideways for a wider picture.
  • ⬆ Uploading what you filmed: Streamers → Upload a video. MP4, MOV or WebM straight from your phone, up to 5 minutes long (trim longer ones on your phone first). Say which event it was and pick the genre. Your browser adds caribbeanvibez.com to the video before it uploads, which takes as long as the clip plays — keep the tab open. That also removes your phone's location data from the file.
  • 💧 The name stays on: every event stream and upload carries caribbeanvibez.com bottom-right, drawn into the picture itself, so it stays on any copy — including ones you download and post elsewhere.
  • 🎮 Goblin Video Player: event videos play in the Goblin Video Player. Pick the Glass, Gold rail or Clay skin under the video, and switch on auto-hide to tuck the controls away.
  • 💾 Save to My Page: press Save to My Page under any event video. Your My event videos box on My Page keeps your own streams and uploads together with the ones you saved, each with Download to post elsewhere — for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or Facebook. We never post to your social accounts for you.
  • 🙋 Be fair to the people around you: ask before filming anyone up close, never film somebody who asks you not to, and follow the venue's and promoter's rules on filming. Do not stream a whole paid performance an artist has not agreed to.
  • 🔥 Reactions, not comments: viewers react with emojis, the same as on Live sessions.
  • ⚑ Reporting: any logged-in viewer can report a stream or video. Enough separate reports and it comes down, and that account cannot stream again.
  • The rules: Caribbean events only, filmed by you, 18 or over. Streams and uploads have limits on length and size and are deleted after a while — download anything you want to keep.

Musicians — announce a release

The Musicians tab is where Caribbean artists put their own releases in front of the community. Two shelves: Out now and Coming soon.

  • 📣 Announce it: Musicians → Announce a release. Give it a title, say whether it is a single, EP, album, mixtape or riddim, pick the Caribbean genre, and choose Out now or Coming soon.
  • 📅 Put a date on it and the release moves itself from Coming soon to Out now when the day arrives — you do not have to come back and flip it.
  • 🎧 Let people hear it: upload a short audio sample (mp3, m4a, wav and so on, up to 20MB) and it plays right on the card. Only one sample plays at a time, so the page never turns into a racket.
  • 📺 Video or the full track: paste a link from YouTube, Vimeo, SoundCloud, Audiomack, Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, Deezer, TIDAL, Boomplay, Mixcloud, Instagram, TikTok or Facebook. We do not host video — those services already do it better and for free.
  • 🛒 Say where to buy it: add the real link to wherever it is sold and choose the wording on the button, for example Buy £1.29 or Pre-order. We take no payment and are not part of the sale.
  • 🖼 Artwork is optional (JPG, PNG or WebP) and makes the card look like a record rather than a notice.
  • ✍️ It stays yours: move it between the two tabs or take it down whenever you like — taking it down deletes the sample and artwork from our servers.
  • The rules: your own Caribbean music, you hold the rights, and the buy link goes to the real release. Full wording on the Musicians page and in the site terms.

DJ Decks & Mixer

The DJ Decks tab gives you two decks and a mixer in the browser. Load your own tracks, mix them, and record the result.

  • 📂 Load a track on each deck — mp3, wav, m4a, aac, ogg or flac, straight off your own device. Your files are never uploaded; all the mixing happens in your browser, so we never see your music library.
  • 🎚 Beatmatch: press TAP in time with each track to read its BPM, then move Pitch on the slower one until the two numbers agree. Pitch holds the key steady, so nothing sounds chipmunked.
  • 🎛 Three-band EQ per deck — Low, Mid, High. Pulling Low down on the track coming in is the classic way to blend without two basslines fighting each other.
  • ↔ Crossfader with full-A / centre / full-B buttons, plus a volume fader per deck and a master. The fade is equal-power, so the middle does not dip.
  • ⌨ Shortcuts: press A or B to play or pause that deck.
  • 📊 Watch the meters. If the master meter sits in the red, bring the master down — a recording that clips cannot be fixed afterwards.
  • ⏺ Three ways to record what you hear: to your device only (nothing reaches us at all, the file just downloads), as a private session (kept in your folder on the site, listed nowhere, only you can open it), or live on the Live tab. All three carry the caribbeanvibez.com watermark.
  • One honest limitation: there is no separate headphone cue. A browser gives us one output, so what you mix is what everybody hears — line the next track up with Pitch and the meters before you fade it in.
  • The decks are a tool, not professional gear, and they lean on your browser. Download anything you want to keep.

Riddim Studio

The Riddim Studio (under Discover) is our experimental music lab:

  • 🥁 Instant Riddim: pick a genre — Dancehall, Soca, Reggae, Zouk or Kizomba — choose 4–16 bars and press Generate. The engine builds a full riddim in about a second. You get 20 riddims per day.
  • ⬇ Download: save the WAV to your device — it's yours to use in your own music.
  • 💾 Save to My Music: keeps the riddim in your library under your artist name.
  • 🔗 Share: name your riddim and get a public link with a player — post it to WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram or X and let people press play.
  • 🎛 Sequencer: below Instant Riddim is the full 16-step sequencer with genre pattern presets, drums, piano and bass — export to WAV or MIDI.
  • The Studio is experimental — always download anything you want to keep.

Caribbean Food Directory

  • Browse by country: the Food page opens on spots near your region automatically — switch country with the flag chips.
  • ⭐ Rate: tap the stars on any spot (1–5). Tap again any time to change your rating — averages update live.
  • ➕ Add your spot: press "Add Your Restaurant or Food Spot" — name, type, location, the must-try dish and an optional photo (the dish or the storefront works best). It goes live immediately with your username credited. Up to 5 additions a day.
  • Own a listed business and want changes? Use the contact page.

Settings — Themes & Your Location

  • 🎨 Themes: choose from ten colour schemes (Wyynn, Horizon, Sterling, Solar, Champagne, Aurora, Forest, Halo, Crimson, Royal) or keep the classic Caribbean look. Tap to preview, Save to keep it on your device.
  • 📍 Your location: set your country and city or town and the Events page will offer an "Events near you" shortcut for carnivals and fetes in your area. Saved to your profile when logged in; never shown publicly.

These conversations are archived and kept for 90 days after the event, then automatically deleted.

Fill in the event name, date, time, country, city, venue, minimum age and whether entry is free or paid. A source link crediting your username is automatically generated from Caribbeanvibez.com. Tick the Mark as shared on social media checkbox if you're also posting the event on your own socials.

Transport Bar — Play, BPM & Volume
Click Play (or press Space) to start the beat. Use the BPM slider (90–130) to set the tempo — 108–116 is classic Caribbean. The Vol slider controls master output.
2
Drums — 9 Tracks
Click any square in the Drums section to activate it. Tracks: Riddim Drum (signature Caribbean percussion), Kick, Snare, Clap, Hi-Hat Closed, Hi-Hat Open, Rim, Shaker, Perc. Try riddim bass on steps 1, 4 and 5 — that's the classic Caribbean log pattern.
3
Piano Chops (8 notes) & Bass (4 notes)
Piano has 8 notes from the active scale. Click steps to place chop hits — scatter 3–4 notes at irregular steps for an authentic Caribbean feel. Bass is deep and minimal; typically 1–2 hits per 4 beats. Try the root note (bottom row) on step 1 and step 9.
4
Scale Switcher
Click a scale pill — Eb min · Ab min · F min · Bb min · C min · G min — to change key instantly. Pattern stays; all piano and bass notes retune. Bb minor and Ab minor are classic Caribbean keys.
5
Swing & Room
Swing (15–30%) gives a shuffled groove. Room (40–60%) adds convolution reverb for that cavernous Caribbean space. Both update live while the beat plays.
6
Mute · Solo · Velocity
M mutes a track; S solos it. Right-click any lit step to set its velocity (1–127). Ghost notes at 30–40, accents at 100–127 — velocity variation makes beats feel human.
7
Share & Save
Share encodes your full beat into a URL — send to anyone, they open the exact same pattern. Save (login required) stores your beat to your profile and optionally publishes it to the Beat Gallery for the community to discover.
8
Export MIDI & WAV
MIDI downloads a Format 1 .mid file (drums + piano + bass + tempo track, swing encoded). Open in any DAW. WAV renders 1–8 bars of stereo 44100Hz audio offline in your browser, then downloads. All reverb and volume is baked in — ready to share or drop into production.
Quick start: Click Groove preset → switch to Bb minor → Swing 20% → Room 45% → you have an authentic Caribbean foundation ready to export.

Voice Editor — Record & Process Vocals

The Voice Editor sits below Riddim Studio at /beats. It gives you a professional in-browser recording studio — up to 3 layered tracks, 4 sample pads, a full effects rack, and WAV export. No plugins required.

1
Record on a Track
Click REC on any of the 3 tracks. A 3-2-1 countdown fires, then recording begins from your microphone. Click STOP to end. The waveform appears immediately on the canvas. Record on multiple tracks to layer vocals, harmonies, or ad-libs.
2
Trim with In/Out Sliders
Each track has an In and Out trim slider. Drag them to remove silence at the start or end — the trimmed region is shown greyed-out on the waveform. Trim is non-destructive: slide back to recover the audio.
3
Fade In & Fade Out
Use the Fade In and Out sliders (0–500 ms) per track to eliminate pops and clicks at clip edges. A smooth fade-in removes breath noise at the start; a fade-out prevents abrupt cut-offs. Fades are baked into WAV export.
4
Load Sample Pads
The Sample Pads section has 4 pads. Click Load on any pad to open a local audio file (MP3, WAV, OGG). Hit the play button to fire the sample through the full effects chain. Samples are included in WAV export. Files stay in your browser — nothing is uploaded until you click Save.
5
Dial in the Effects Rack
All 8 effects are applied in real-time to every track and sample:
Reverb — adds room depth. Try 20–40% for intimacy, 60%+ for drama.
EQ Bass / Treble — ±12 dB shelving. Cut bass below 200 Hz to remove boominess; boost treble at 6 kHz for presence.
Compressor — evens out dynamics. 50–70% gives radio-ready upfront sound.
Noise Gate — mutes silence between words, cutting room noise. Start at 30–40%.
De-esser — reduces harsh "s" and "sh" sounds at 7.5 kHz. Use 3–6 dB.
De-noise — high-pass filter that removes low-frequency room rumble. 20–40% removes most hum.
Pitch — shifts pitch in semitone steps without changing tempo. ±2 st for tuning correction.
Speed — changes playback speed (0.5×–2.0×). Note: also shifts pitch like a tape machine.
6
Spectrum Analyser
The green bar display at the top of the Voice Editor shows the real-time frequency spectrum while playing. Low bars on the left = bass frequencies; high bars on the right = treble. Use it to spot problem frequencies and judge your EQ settings by eye.
7
Export WAV
Click Export WAV to render all non-muted tracks and samples offline at 44.1 kHz 16-bit stereo, with all effects baked in. The file downloads to your device. No data is sent to our servers during export.
8
Save to Profile
Enter a clip name, choose Public or Private, then click Save to Profile. The audio uploads to the server and appears in My Saved Clips below. You can play clips back inline or delete them at any time.
