📖 How it works
- 🔴 Going live from an event: Streamers → Go live from an event. The studio opens your phone's back camera. Type the event's name (it becomes the title, e.g. "Live at …"), pick the music, tick the terms and press Start broadcasting. It shows here under Live from events now and on the Live tab.
- 🎧 Check your sound first: the studio tells you how many audio tracks it captured. If it says none, fix that before you start. Loud speakers can clip a phone mic — step back from the speaker stack.
- 🔋 Battery and data: live video drains a phone fast and uses mobile data (roughly 1 GB an hour). Charge up, use the venue Wi-Fi if there is any, and keep the screen on.
- 📱 Hold it sideways for a wider picture, and keep it steady — lean on something if you can.
- ⬆ Uploading what you filmed: already have clips from the night? Use Upload a video above: MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 5 minutes long (trim longer ones on your phone first). Before it uploads, your browser adds caribbeanvibez.com to the bottom-right of every frame (it takes as long as the clip plays) and drops your phone's location data.
- 💧 The name stays on: live streams and uploads both carry caribbeanvibez.com in the bottom-right corner, drawn into the picture itself — so it stays on any copy you download and post elsewhere.
- 💾 Save to My Page: press Save to My Page on any event video and it is kept on your My Page with your own streams and uploads, ready to download and post on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or Facebook.
- 🎮 Goblin Video Player: event videos play in the Goblin Video Player — pick the Glass, Gold rail or Clay skin under the video.
- ⬇ Download and share: open your stream or upload and press Download the recording, then post it wherever you like. We never post to your social accounts for you.
- 🙋 Be fair to the people around you: ask before filming anyone up close, never film somebody who asks you not to, and follow the venue's and the promoter's rules on filming. Do not stream a whole paid performance an artist has not agreed to.
- 🔥 Reactions, not comments: viewers react with emojis, the same as on Live sessions.
- ⚑ Reporting: any logged-in viewer can report a stream or video. Enough separate reports and it comes down, and that account cannot stream again.
- The rules: Caribbean events only, filmed by you, 18 or over. Streams and uploads have limits on length and size, and are deleted after a while — download anything you want to keep. The full guide is on the How to Guide.
Live session terms
- ('Caribbean music only', 'A live session must be a music session and the music must be Caribbean - dancehall, soca, reggae, calypso, zouk, kompa, steelpan, dub, ska, bashment, riddim or a Caribbean mixed set. Sessions that are not music, or are music from outside that tradition, will be ended and the recording removed.')
- ('You are on camera and on the record', 'Everything you broadcast is recorded to one file as it goes out. That file is your recording to download, and it carries a caribbeanvibez.com watermark that cannot be removed. While a recording is running a red bar sits across the top of the page saying so, with a running clock, and it cannot be dismissed - so you are told, continuously, for as long as it lasts.')
- ('Play what you have the right to play', 'You are responsible for the music in your set. Do not broadcast anything you do not hold or licence the rights to. If a rights holder complains we will take the recording down.')
- ('Nothing illegal, nothing hateful, nothing sexual', 'No nudity or sexual content, no violence, no drugs, no abuse or hate against anyone, and nothing that breaks the law where you are. Viewers can report a session while it is running.')
- ('No under-18s broadcasting', 'You must be 18 or over to run a live session.')
- ('Reports can end your access', 'Viewers report sessions, not comments - there are no comments on live sessions. Enough separate reports on one session, or one review by us, and you will not be able to go live again. Existing recordings may also be removed.')
